Dr. Amarilys Colon knew she wanted to become a physician from a very early age. Her desire to help others drove her to pursue her studies, initially in science and biology, and later in medicine. Originally from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Dr. Colon obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 1996 and her medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in 2000.

Dr. Colon believes in unlocking the potential of her patients to live healthier and fuller lives by taking the time to get to know them on a deeper level. This ability to connect and forge alliances with her patients has earned her multiple achievements and recognitions for excellence in patient care throughout her medical career. In her spare time, Dr. Colon enjoys reading, traveling, going to the movie theater and outdoor activities with her family.

She supports several causes, including Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, San Jorge Children’s Hospital in Puerto Rico and Habitat for Humanity. Dr. Colon believes that “the world is changed by your example, not by your opinion”, and that’s why she’s proud to join our team and be a part of our pursuit to offer the first class care that our patients deserve.
